Microsoft today announced that the company has opened up new talks with Yahoo. It is clear that this time; Microsoft has come up with a new deal to acquire the parts of Yahoo instead of eyeing on the entire company.
In light of the announcement, Yahoo shares has raised by 2% early in the morning. According to the recent developments, Microsoft is continually exploring the alternatives to develop both its online services and advertising business.
Thus, MSN is considering a new bid to acquire the part of the yahoo services. No doubt, this step is a clear indicative that Yahoo has an upper hand over the new deal. But what does Microsoft want from Yahoo? It has a powerful email (hotmail), messenger (msn) and internet browser (IE).
Live.com which is a new entry into the search marketing field has to compete with Google. So Microsoft would be interested in Yahoo’s Search Technology and Yahoo Search Marketing.
If that is the case, then will Yahoo survive by offering its search technology to Microsoft? Let’s wait and see.
