How To Choose Web Hosting – Quick Tips For Reliable Web Hosting

Last Updated on September 29, 2011 by Larry Young

If you want wider acceptance then you need to have a good reliable web host. It helps you to install WordPress quickly. However if you don’t like running installs or are new and looking for a excellent webhost then this article is must for you.

Don’t use free blogs or free web hosting as you’re not in control of your blogs and they could be taken down or deleted any day. It’s very important that you own your blogs and are in full control of both the domain name and the hosting account where the files are stored.

Web hosting costs money but that doesn’t cost a BIG deal. If you have plans to make money online with blogs, then spending money on web hosting is an excellent investment.

The Domain & Web Host Combo

This is the traditional way get started, you head over to a web host and choose your domain name and the package you want all from the same supplier. It’s easy to mange and usually cost effective. You shouldn’t run into problems but sometimes you do with the lesser know or new hosting companies who come and go.

Total Control Method

This is where you use a separate domain registrar to keep track of your domain names (such as Godaddy), and a separate company to host the files (BlueHost). This is great as you are always in control of your domains and as long as you back on a regular basis, it doesn’t matter if the hosting companies you use disappear or have major server errors. It is easy to sign up elsewhere and upload you back up and point your domain to the new hosting service.

The Recommendations

Personally, I’ve tried many different web hosts over the year and I’ve been happy with a few and not with others but all of the ones listed below are ones I currently use and have no hesitation in recommending to anyone:

  • HostMonster
  • HostGator
